Youth Sports
YMCA youth sports programs fill kids' free
time with positive activities and caring adult attention.
Prior to hiring, reference checks, including CORI and
SORI, are completed for staff and volunteers. Instructors,
sometimes volunteers that include many family members,
emphasize teamwork and cooperation over winning at any
cost, developing good values over developing the next
superstar.
We teach good sportsmanship through the
YMCA’s four core values of caring, honesty, respect
and responsibility and the seven YMCA program objectives.
Skill development builds self-confidence while an active
lifestyle promotes health in spirit, mind and body.
Youth enjoy sports clinics in karate, t-ball,
basketball, soccer and more.
We also have a number of instructional
youth fitness programs geared to introducing healthy
lifestyles at an early age.
